Description

These teriyaki steak bites are a simple and flavorful option for when you’re craving takeout. This recipe is paleo, whole30, and AIP.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin steak, sliced into cubes
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (omit for AIP)
  • 1/2 cup coconut aminos
  • Juice of half a lime (about 1 tbsp)
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar (omit for whole30)
  • 1 1/2 tsp arrowroot starch
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds (omit for AIP)
  • 1 tbsp green onion, chopped

Instructions

  1. Remove the steak from the fridge and season well with salt and pepper. Allow to sit on the counter for 8-10 minutes.
  2. While the steak sits, combine the coconut aminos, lime juice, coconut sugar, and arrowroot starch. Whisk well and set aside.
  3. Add the avocado oil to a large pan and set to medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak bites and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until browned. Set aside.
  4. Add the garlic and ginger to the pan and cook for 2 minutes or until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the coconut aminos mixture and stir. Allow to thicken for 2-3 minutes. Add the steak bites back in and stir to coat until the steak reaches it’s desired doneness.
  6. Serve topped with sesame seeds and green onion with a side of your choice.
