Description

These lemon pepper chicken wings are perfect for gameday snacking! They’re paleo, whole30, and can be modified to be AIP.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tbsp ghee, melted (sub avocado oil)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional, omit for whole30)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 tbsp lemon pepper seasoning
  • 2 lb chicken wings
  • 2 tbsp arrowroot starch
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon wedges to serve

For the AIP lemon seasoning

  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Zest of half a lemon

Instructions

  1. Prehat the oven to 400 F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the melted ghee, lemon juice, honey, garlic, and lemon pepper seasoning. Set aside.
  3. Pat the chicken wings dry and add to a large bowl. Toss in arrowroot starch to coat.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken wings and stir to fully coat.
  5. Add the chicken wings to the baking sheet, evenly spacing. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through. The chicken wings should be crispy and the internal temperature should read 165 F.
  6. Serve topped with fresh parsley and lemon wedge with a compliant ranch dip if desired.
