For the wings
- 2 lbs chicken wings
- 2 tsp baking powder (I use this)
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp ginger powder
- Salt and pepper (omit pepper for AIP)
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- Green onion, to serve
For the sauce
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 3 tbsp coconut aminos
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- Salt and pepper (omit pepper for AIP)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pat the chicken wings totally dry and add to a bowl. Top with the dry seasonings and baking powder and toss to coat.
- Add the chicken wings to the baking sheet and evenly space. Top with avocado oil and transfer to the oven. Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through until the wings are crisp.
- About 10 minutes before the wings come out of the oven, add the ingredients for the sauce into a pot and stir well. Simmer on medium-low for 4-5 minutes, stirring often. Remove from the heat
- Add the cooked chicken wings to a clean bowl and pour the sauce over. Toss to coat.
- Serve the wings topped with green onion.
