Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings

These lemon pepper chicken wings are perfect for gameday snacking! They're paleo, whole30, and can be modified to be AIP.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp ghee melted (sub avocado oil)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp honey optional, omit for whole30
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 ½ tbsp lemon pepper seasoning
  • 2 lb chicken wings
  • 2 tbsp arrowroot starch
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • Lemon wedges to serve

For the AIP lemon seasoning

  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Zest of half a lemon

Instructions

  • Prehat the oven to 400 F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Whisk together the melted ghee, lemon juice, honey, garlic, and lemon pepper seasoning. Set aside.
  • Pat the chicken wings dry and add to a large bowl. Toss in arrowroot starch to coat.
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken wings and stir to fully coat.
  • Add the chicken wings to the baking sheet, evenly spacing. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through. The chicken wings should be crispy and the internal temperature should read 165 F.
  • Serve topped with fresh parsley and lemon wedge with a compliant ranch dip if desired.
