Oven Bacon Twists

Ingredients

  • 12 oz bacon
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

For the oven method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. To twist the bacon, hold both ends of the bacon and twist about 3-4 times to form a twist. Place on the baking sheet and repeat for all of the bacon, packing them close to each other to help them hold their shape.
  3. Top the bacon with coconut sugar and black pepper (see notes for seasoning alternatives).
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes before removing from the oven and flipping. Bake for another 18-20 minutes or until the bacon is cooked to your liking.

For the air fryer method

  • To twist the bacon, hold both ends of the bacon and twist about 3-4 times to form a twist. Place in the air fryer basket and repeat for all of the bacon, packing them close to each other to help them hold their shape.
  • Top the bacon with coconut sugar and black pepper (see notes for seasoning alternatives).
  • Air fry at 350 F for 10-12 minutes. Time will vary depending on your air fryer, and how full it is, so check often.

Notes

Depending on the size of your air fryer, scale the recipe down to accommodate the size.

Omit the black pepper for AIP.

If spicier bacon is desired, add cayenne pepper.

If you’d rather keep it coconut free, brush the bacon with 1 tbsp of honey instead.
