Drain the can of jackfruit to remove any excess liquid.
Using a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the jackfruit and season with salt, pepper, garlic, onion, chili powder (optional), and coconut sugar. Stir well to coat and cook for 2-3 mintes to soften.
Add the BBQ sauce and stir well to coat. Simmer for another 3-4 minutes.
Serve topped with diced green onion.
