Why you’ll love this Ninja Creami Protein Cookie Monster Ice Cream
I have been hooked on my Ninja Creami for summer treats that are fresh, delicious, and often packed with protein! I’m a few years into owning one, and I still love it!. It’s the best way to make fruit-based ice cream like my Ninja Creami Strawberry Ice Cream, and protein ice cream like my Dairy Free Chocolate Protein Ice Cream.
But this time I wanted to make something a little different, so I thought a Ninja Creami Protein Cookie Monster Ice Cream would be so fun and delicious! Here’s why you’re going to love it…

- Quick and easy! For less than 10 minutes of prep, you can have the most delicious and whimiscal dessert!.
- Dairy-free, but still creamy. This recipe uses both plant-based yogurt and milk to make a dairy-free ice cream.
- No artificial colors. A lot of cookie monster ice creams use artificial colors, but I use blue spirulina for the coloring in this recipe!
Ingredients
See the recipe card below for full information on ingredients and quantities.
- Almond Milk. I like to use this almond milk but you could try other non-dairy milks.
- Vanilla Protein Powder. This is my favorite vanilla protein powder to use in this recipe!
- Vanilla Coconut Yogurt. I love this one for the flavor, consistency, and added protein.
- Blue Spirulina. This gives the blue color!
- Maple Syrup. For a touch of sweetness!
- Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies and Gluten Free Oreos.
How to Make Ninja Creami Protein Cookie Monster Ice Cream
Here are the simple steps, with photos, to make this recipe. Find full instructions in the recipe card.

Step One. Blend the almond milk, protein powder, yogurt, blue spirulina, and maple syrup in the Ninja creami cup. Add the lid and freeze.

Step Two. Spin on “creami fit” function (or “light ice cream” for the original ninja creami) several times for the perfect texture.

Step Three. Add the cookies to the creami cup and spin on “mix in” setting.

Step Four. Serve the creami in bowls and top with extra cookie crumbles!
Michelle’s Tips & Tricks
- Wait for the froth to calm down before freezing. Blending the protein powder into the milk will cause it froth a bit, putting the interior over the fill line. Wait for the bubbles to pop before freezing so it freezes below the fill line!
- Adjust the cookies to your liking. You can easily add more or less cookies, and different types of cookies!

Ingredients
- 1 ½ cup almond milk
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 2 tbsp coconut yogurt
- 2 tsp blue spirulina
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 gluten free chocolate chip cookies
- 2 gluten free oreos
Instructions
- Using the ninja creami cup, pour the almond milk into the base. Add protein powder, yogurt, blue spirulina, and maple syrup use an immersion blender to blend well until there are no clumps remaining. You can also blend the mixture in a blender and pour it into the creami cup
- The mixture will be very frothy, so wait 10 minutes for the froth to subside. Gently mix to pop and bubbles, ensuring the mixture does not pass the fill line. Add the lid and freeze upright for 24 hours.
- Once fully frozen, run the outside of the creami cup under warm water for 30 seconds. Remove the lid and ensure that the creami has frozen flat. Place the creami in the outside cup and place the lid on top. Use the “creami fit” function (or “light ice cream” for the original ninja creami) and spin. Respin one more time for the perfect texture. If your ice cream still isn’t creamy, add a splash of almond milk and respin one more time.
- Lightly break up the cookies (reserving some on the side for topping) and add them to the creami cup. Add the blade back and top and spin one more time on the “mix in” setting.
- Serve the creami in bowls and top with extra cookie crumbles!
