These chocolate kiwi crunch bites are the perfect homemade treat! They’re made with dairy-free chocolate, fresh kiwi, and puffed quinoa.

I love using as much fruit as I can during the summer, and after my chocolate strawberry crunch bites went viral on social media last year, I knew I wanted to iterate on this idea! What better way to enjoy this recipe in the summer than with kiwi? Kiwi tastes absolutely delicious with chocolate, and it couldn’t be an easier way to enjoy a n0-bake treat in the summer.

Why You’ll Love These Chocolate Kiwi Bites

  • They’re so easy to make! Just melt the chocolate, add it to the mold, and add the kiwi!
  • They’re easier to eat, too. Chocolate-covered fruits are delicious, but they can be kind of hard to eat. The chocolate gets messy, and the ratios are always off. This is far easier to eat, and the chocolate-to-fruit ratio is much better.

The Ingredients for Chocolate Kiwi Crunch Bites

  • Dairy-Free Chocolate & Coconut Oil. I like to use Enjoy Life chocolate chips!
  • Puffed Quinoa. This adds a nice crunch!
  • Fresh Kiwi. You’ll use about 2-3 kiwis for this recipe, depending on how big they are. Make sure to slice your kiwi smaller if needed to fit the mold.

The tools

  • A mold. I use this, but you can easily use any shape you like, as long as the kiwi fits.

How to make Chocolate Kiwi Crunch Bites

  • Step One. Melt the chocolate and coconut oil together using your preferred method.
  • Step Two. Stir the puffed quinoa, salt, and vanilla into the melted chocolate.
  • Step Three. Peel the kiwis and slice into smaller circles if needed. Spoon a large spoonful of chocolate into the mold and top each chocolate with a kiwi slice.

  • Step Four. Allow to set in the fridge and enjoy!

Tips & Tricks

  • Use rice cereal in place of quinoa. This is another way to add that crunch!
  • Keep them chilled or frozen. This chocolate will definitely melt if it’s left at room temperature.

Storage Instructions

Kiwi tends to release a lot of moisture when it’s sliced in the fridge, so you’ll want to enjoy these chocolates fresh after they’re set, or transfer them to the freezer to enjoy later!

  • Yield: 8 servings 1x
  • Diet: Gluten Free

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips
  • 2 tsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp puffed quinoa
  • Pinch of salt
  • 23 small kiwis

Instructions

  1. Combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a glass bowl and melt in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring every interval, or melt over a double boiler. Remove from the heat and allow to cool. Stir the puffed quinoa, salt, and vanilla into the melted chocolate.
  2. Spoon a large spoonful of chocolate into the mold (I use this). Gently tap the mold on the table a few times to even out the chocolate.
  3. Peel and slice the kiwis, slicing them into smaller circles if needed to fit the mold. Place a slice of kiwi on top of each of the chocolate molds.
  4. Transfer to the fridge and allow to harden for about an hour or two.
  5. Carefully remove from the mold and enjoy! Enjoy immediately or freeze to enjoy later.
