These apple cider vinegar gummies are a yummy treat with benefits! They’re made with apple juice, honey, apple cider vinegar, and gelatin for a simple and fun treat.

Apple cider vinegar is one of my favorite ingredients in the kitchen! I actually use it as a hair wash solution, in salad dressing, and as an addition to drinks sometimes. When done right, it has a great flavor pop, and it has hidden benefits, so I decided it was time to put in a gummy!

These gummies are yummy enough that my husband who hates ACV likes them, and my 4 year old didn’t notice a thing!

The Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

Do you have to dilute apple cider vinegar?

Yes! Since apple cider vinegar is so acidic, it’s not something you want to consume straight. The desired ratio is 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar per cup of liquid. This recipe follows that ratio and has added honey to help further dilution and sweeten the taste.

Do these gummies have all of the benefits?

It’s important to note that the ACV in these gummies is diluted and much smaller than you would get from a full apple cider vinegar drink. So you’d have to eat a solid handful of gummies to get a decent amount of ACV. But personally, I’d rather get my dose of ACV from a handful of gummies that actually taste good than a drink that I don’t even like nearly as much!

The Ingredients for Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies

  • Apple juice. It’s key to dilute ACV, so this recipe uses apple juice to carry through the apple flavor. You can also use white grape juice.
  • Apple cider vinegar. For maximum flavor, be sure to use apple cider vinegar with the mother in the bottle!
  • Honey. ACV can be a strong flavor, even when diluted. The added honey helps these gummies taste a bit sweeter.
  • Cinnamon. Cinnamon really complements the flavor of apple.
  • Gelatin. Gelatin is what makes this recipe into a gummy! You can also use agar, but you’ll have to cut the amount in 1/3rd.

The tools to make Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies

  • Gummy molds. I love using this gummy bear mold.
  • A dropper. This makes the process of transferring the liquid to the mold much easier! Most molds will come with a dropper, like the one linked above.

How to make Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies

  • Combine the liquid & gelatin. Pour the apple juice into a pot and add the honey and cinnamon. Stir well. Sprinkle the gelatin over the liquid and lightly mix. Allow to harden for 2-3 minutes until solid.
  • Heat the gelatin to liquid. Transfer the pot to the stove and heat it over low heat for 2-3 minutes or until it is fully liquid, whisking at the end to combine. You want the mixture to be liquid but not reduced, so remove it from the heat once it’s liquid!
  • Add the ACV & transfer to a dropper.
  • Chill and store in the fridge!

TIPS & TRICKS

  • Don’t add the apple cider vinegar until the end. Vinegar burns off a bit when heated, so wait until after the mixture is heated to add the ACV.
  • You don’t need the mold. Obviously, the mold is nice to have, but you can also just use a glass container and slice the gummies into squares.

HOW TO MAKE THIS RECIPE without gelatin

If you want to swap out gelatin for agar, simply use three times less agar than you would gelatin. Agar is a lot stronger than gelatin, so you need to divide the amount of gelatin by three, and then you’ll have the amount of agar needed!

A NOTE FOR TODDLERS

These gummies are a lot softer than storebought, so my son who is over 3 years old is fine with them. However, if you have toddlers, please use caution with gummies/small foods in general as they can be a choking hazard.

Storage instructions

Store these gummies in the fridge for up to a week, though I have read mixed feedback saying that they last longer. Overall, I can’t make them last longer than a week!
