Paleo Ground Beef Tostadas (Gluten-free, AIP)
These easy Tostadas are made with grain-free tortillas, ground beef, and other classic toppings! They’re paleo, dairy-free, gluten-free and easy to make AIP.
Paleo Ground Beef Tostadas
There’s nothing like a crunchy, flavorful tostada. Tostadas are made with a crispy corn tortilla shell base and topped with beans, avocado, protein like chicken or beef, and more. Traditionally, tostadas are made with corn tortillas, but luckily you can easily make this classic grain-free.
These paleo tostadas are made with simple ground beef and a crispy grain-free tortilla base. They’re gluten-free, dairy-free, and can be made to be AIP.
The Ingredients for Paleo Ground Beef Tostadas
- Ground beef. You can use other proteins, but I love using simple ground beef for an easy-to-cook protein.
- Almond flour tortillas. I use Siete brand almond flour tortillas for a perfectly crispy tostada! You can use other grain-free tortillas, but just be aware the cook time will vary to get them crispy.
- Avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and sour cream. Or other toppings of your choice!
How to make Paleo Ground Beef Tostadas
- Cook the ground beef and set it aside.
- Crisp the tortillas in a pan. Set aside.
- Assemble the tostadas by layering on the mashed avocado, then the ground beef, then the toppings, and finish with sour cream and cilantro. Serve fresh.
Can you make these tostadas ahead of time?
These are best fresh, but you can definetly prep all of the ingredients ahead of time and assemble when you’re ready to enjoy! This really does come together quickly.
Can you use other types of tortillas?
You can! You can use other varieties of Siete brand tortillas, or other grain-free tortillas like homemade cassava tortillas for AIP. The trick is to just get them nice and crispy, so each of the different varieties of tortillas will vary a bit with cook times, but as long as you keep a close eye on it you can make it work.
What toppings can you use for the tostadas?
- Avocado
- Tomato
- Red onion
- Black olives
- Dairy-free sour cream
- Lettuce
- Cilantro
You can also use more traditional toppings like refried beans if tolerated, though it won’t be paleo.

We love these and have already made them 3-4 times. I used the Siete Cassava flour tortillas and brushed both sides with avocado oil and baked them on a jelly roll pan for 8 mins at 425 turning halfway through. They get wonderfully crunchy/chewy. Thanks, Michele for another great recipe!

That sounds amazing! So glad they were a hit!
I love these tostadas, but this is also my go-to taco seasoning! I tolerate cumin, but not chili, so I include the cumin but not the chili powder, and it’s the best nightshade free taco seasoning blend that I’ve tried.
