Espresso Martini Mocktail
This espresso martini mocktail is the perfect zero-proof option! It’s rich, lightly sweet, and the perfect fun little drink without any dairy.

Why you’ll love this espresso martini mocktail
As someone who doesn’t drink, I’ve still always been incredibly jealous when I see an espresso martini! I It always looks so lush and delicious, and I would joke about getting a non-alcoholic one. It’s pretty simple to make versions of a margarita like my mango margarita mocktail, but an espresso martini always has eluded me. I didn’t think it was even possible until I saw it on a menu and had to order it and recreate my own!
Here’s why you’re going to love this absolutely…

- Rich and delicious! With a rich coffee flavor, this drink is just the absolute best mocktail
- Non alcoholic. No matter the reason you’re avoiding alcohol, you don’t have to modify a regular espresso martini to make it non alcoholic because I’ve already done the work for you!
- A dairy-free cold foam. I’ve added a delicious dairy-free cold foam on top to make this recipe extra lush and decadent.
Recipe Ingredients
Ingredient | What it does | Potential swap |
Espresso | The main ingredient! | You can also use an espresso cold brew. |
Orange bitters | This adds that bitter alcohol flavor! | Some bitters will have alcohol, but you’re talking about drops versus entire shots, so it’s up to you how much you want to use or what variety. This one does not have alcohol! |
Coconut water | I had a similar recipe at a restaurant that used coconut water, and it was just the best | You can try cactus water. |
Coconut milk | This adds some rich creaminess! | Almond or oat milk. |
Vanilla syrup | This adds sweetness and flavor. | Maple syrup |
Vanilla creamer | This makes the cold foam! | You can make a homemade cold foam with coconut cream and vanilla syrup. |

Michelle’s tips & tricks
- Don’t skip the garnish! Adding some coffee beans on top ties the look altogether and adds even more coffee aroma!
- Add mocha syrup if desired. This will make it extra decadent, but adding mocha syrup instead of vanilla will make a chocolate espresso martini!
Can you make an espresso martini mocktail without a cocktail shaker?
I do recommend using the cocktail shaker as opposed to something like a milk frother. However, if you don’t have a cocktail shaker, you can easily use a glass jar like a mason jar and shake as directed. Then all you have to do is simply strain the mixture over the glass and it will mimic a cocktail shaker!
What can you use instead of vodka in an espresso martini?
Orange bitters or digestive bitters are the perfect swap! Keep in mind that some bitters do still have alcohol, but it’s drops versus an entire shot. So please pay attention to the label of the bitters that you use and adjust to your comfort level!
