Why you’ll love this Ninja Creami strawberry ice cream

When I got my Ninja Creami, I was absolutely hooked. I’m a few years into owning one, and it honestly has not lost it’s allure. It’s the best way to make fruit-based ice cream like my ninja creami mango sorbet, and protein ice cream like my Dairy Free Chocolate Protein Ice Cream.

Since it’s strawberry season, I wanted to nail the perfect strawberry ice cream without any dairy! Here’s why you’re going to love it…

  • Quick and easy! For less than 10 minutes of prep, you can have the most delicious and simple ice cream.
  • Dairy-free, but still creamy. This recipe uses both plant-based yogurt and milk to make a dairy-free ice cream.
  • No pudding mix. A lot of ninja creami recipes use pudding mix as a thickener. This recipe ditches the pudding mix and uses yogurt for an ice cream that’s still ultra creamy.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, quartered
  • 1 tbsp sugar, sub any granulated sweetener of your choice
  • 1 tsp lemon juice, optional
  • 5 oz coconut yogurt
  • ½ cup almond milk

Equipment

Instructions

  • Add the strawberries, granulated sweetnener of your choice and lemon juice to the ninja creami pint container. Allow to sit for 10 minutes. The strawberries should look glossy and begin to soften. Use a fork to mash the strawberries down a bit. There's not need to fully puree them, but you do want them mostly mashed.
  • Add the yogurt and almond milk, being sure to not overfill the container. Add the lid and freeze for 24 hours.
  • Remove from the freezer and run the pint under hot water for 10-20 seconds to remove any frost. Place the frozen cup inside the outer bowl and lock the lid on top. Spin on the lite ice cream setting once.
  • Remove the lid and make a well in the center of the creami. Add a splash of almond milk and spin again on the respin setting. You'll spin 2-3 times total, adding a splash of almond milk as needed until the ice cream is creamy to your liking!
  • Serve by scooping into a bowl, or use the swirl function if desired!

Notes

A note on sweetener: The sugar is important to soften the strawberries and mash them down for the proper ratios for this recipe. You can easily use any granulated sweetener of your choice, like cane sugar, coconut sugar, maple sugar, etc.
A note on leftovers: If you have leftovers, level off the top and freeze again. Respin when you’re ready to enjoy the rest!
