Why You’ll Love These Tart Cherry Gummies
- They’re fun to eat! Who doesn’t love eating a cute little gummy?!
- Super easy to make. These couldn’t be easier to make. It’s fun to make with kids, or throw together by yourself.
- They have sleep benefits. Everyone is different, but the science is in on both tart cherry and magnesium….
Does Tart Cherry Help You Sleep?
Tart Cherry Juice has been shown in small studies to potentially lead to more sleep! A 2018 study followed adults with insomnia who saw an increase in time in overall sleep by drinking cherry juice (source). A 2012 study also saw that cherry juice increased total melatonin levels (source).
It’s very important to note that dosage is a major factor, and these studies were using larger amounts than would be used in a small serving of these gummies, so keep that in mind and add them as a bonus, and not a 1:1 swap for drinking a cup of cherry juice.
Also, keep in mind that everyone is different and tart cherry may or may not help on an individual basis… but these gummies are yummy either way 😉
Does Magnesium Help You Sleep?
Natural calm is a magnesium supplement that I’ve used for years, and magnesium can indeed potentially help you sleep longer (source).
However, again, we have to keep dosage in mind (see recommendations here) and note that these gummies are a smaller serving.
The Ingredients
- Tart Cherry Juice
- Natural Calm Magnesium

- Honey (optional)
The Tools
- Gummy mold. You can easily just pour these into a glass container and slice them into squares, but I love using a mold like these gummy bear molds!
- Dropper. Most molds will come with a dropper, or you can buy one!

Michelle’s Tips & Tricks 🤓
- Adjust the natural calm for your needs. Please note that the serving size for Natural Calm is 1-2 tsp, and it’s recommended to work your way up to 2 tsp. This recipe has 2 tsp total. Adjust the serving size to fit your personal preference and needs!
- Be patient with the fizz! Natural calm is fizzy! The key to this recipe is to work slowly with the natural calm so it doesn’t overly fizz and give a poor texture to the gummies. Allow the fizz to calm down!
Can kids have tart cherry gummies?
Always ask your doctor. If you have small kids, please use caution with any small foods in general, as they can be a choking hazard. Personally, I would give my 5-year-old tart cherry gummies alone without the adult natural calm.

Tart Cherry Sleepy Gummies

- 1 tbsp honey, optional
- 2 tsp natural calm
- 2 tbsp gelatin
Instructions
- Using a medium pot, combine the cherry juice and honey (if using) and whisk well.
- Add the natural calm slowy, about 1 tsp at a time. The natural calm will fizz, but wait for the fizz to calm down before adding more. Whisk and allow the fizz to calm down for anoter minute or two.
- Sprinkle the gelatin on top and wait for it to set and harden.
- Transfer to the stove and heat on medium-low until the mixture returns to liquid. Remove from the heat and allow the fizz from the natural calm to calm down again. If it's still too fizzy and bubbly, slightly skim the very top just to remove any excess of bubbles.
- Allow to set in the fridge for a few hours or overnight before carefuly removing. Store in the fridge for up to a week and enjoy before bed!
