Watermelon Dole Whip
After you try this copycat watermelon dole whip, you’re going to be hooked! It’s made in the ninja creami with just 3 simple ingredients.

Have you ever heard of Dole Whip? It’s a pineapple ice cream that’s mostly popularized by Disney World, but did you know that they also serve Watermelon Dole Whip?! If you’re like me and can’t make it out to Disney World this summer but want the perfect copycat from the comfort of your home, this recipe is just the thing!
This copycat watermelon dole whip is peak summer vibes with 3 simple ingredients! It’s dairy free, and couldn’t be easier to make.
Why you’ll love this watermelon dole whip
- Bring Disney World Dole Whip to your kitchen! Disney World is famous for its Dole Whip, and they actually serve watermelon Dole Whip in a watermelon wedge! When I first saw this photo, I fell in love with the concept. It’s so summery with peak vacation vibes, and this recipe will help you recreate the exact same thing at home!
- It’s made with simple ingredients. Just three ingredients!
Recipe Ingredients
See the recipe card below for full information on ingredients and quantities.
- Watermelon. The watermelon is key for the flavor of the Dole Whip and I love using a watermelon wedge to serve, but you could skip that.
- Honey. A perfect refined sugar free way to sweeten it.
- Coconut Yogurt. This is my favorite to use!
Substitutions and modifications
- Maple syrup. Maple syrup should work in place of honey for a sweetener, but I wouldn’t use a non-liquid sweetener like coconut sugar.
- Mini chocolate chips. You can leave off the mini chocolate chips or try other toppings!
How to make Watermelon Dole Whip in the Ninja Creami
Here are the simple steps, with photos, to make this recipe. Find full instructions in the recipe card.
Step one. Add the watermelon, coconut yogurt and honey to a blender and blend until liquid.
Step two. Pour the liquid into the ninja creami container and freeze
Step three. Spin on the frozen watermelon dole whip on the fruit whip setting once. Remove the lid and add a small splash of water. Respin once.
Step four. You can either serve the watermelon dole whip scooped into cups or swirled into the watermelon wedge.
Can you make Dole Whip without a Ninja Creami?
I highly recommend the Ninja Creami for that perfect soft serve texture. However, if you don’t have one, here are my tips…
- Follow the recipe as listed and blend the watermelon, yogurt and honey.
- Add the mixture to large silicone ice cube trays (like this) and freeze overnight.
- Blend the cubes in a food processor (adding water if needed) until creamy.
- Use a piping bag to pipe out a soft serve texture
Tips & Tricks
- Eat it in a bowl instead of a watermelon wedge! The watermelon wedge is the cutest vibe with the most authentic theme park feel, but of course, you can just serve it in a bowl, too.
- Or go the extra mile with the watermelon wedge 😉. To make the optional watermelon wedges to serve, slice a large wedge and carefully hollow out some of the inside of the wedge so you can put the sorbet inside!

- 5 oz vanilla coconut yogurt
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1-2 tbsp mini chocolate chips, optional
- Watermelon wedges to serve, optional
Equipment
Instructions
- Add the watermelon, coconut yogurt and honey to a blender and blend until liquid.
- Pour the liquid into the ninja creami container, making sure not to exceed the fill line. Add the lid and freeze the container upright for 24 hours.
- Once fully frozen, ensure that the watermelon mixture is flat and not off-center, as this will damage the blade. Place the frozen watermelon dole whip cup inside the outer bowl and lock the lid on top. Spin on the fruit whip setting once. Remove the lid and add a small splash of water. Respin once.
- You can either serve the watermelon dole whip scooped into cups, but if you choose to use the swirl option, remove the dole whip from the outer cup and place the swirl attachment on the cup. Hold a cone, cup, or the watermelon wedges until the swirl attachment and swirl the dole whip!
- Serve immediately topped with mini chocolate chips if desired!
