- Cost-effective. This recipe is made with ground beef rather than an expensive cut of steak for a cheaper option. I love using ground beef for recipes like my ground beef and broccoli, and this recipe is similarly easy, but with different flavors.
Recipe Ingredients
See the recipe card below for full information on ingredients and quantities.

| Ingredient | What it does | Potential swap |
| Ground beef | This is the main protein for the dish. | Ground turkey |
| Beef broth | This is the liquid that makes the gravy and brings the sauce together while adding extra flavor! | Chicken broth |
| Arrowroot starch | This thickens the gravy sauce | Tapioca starch |
| Ghee | Adds fat and richness to the gravy. | I haven’t tried to swap this, but coconut oil would probably be best. |
| Coconut aminos | This gives flavor to the gravy! | You can also use a low sodium tamari. |
| Garlic & minced onion | This adds more flavor. | You can use dried or fresh versions of these aromatics. |

Michelle’s Tips & Tricks
- Control the thickness of your gravy to your liking.
- If you prefer a thinner gravy: Add extra broth to thin out the gravy.
- If you’d like a thicker gravy: Whisk about 1 tsp of arrowroot starch with a splash of broth and add it to the pan.
- Add veggies. This recipe would be perfect with some cauliflower rice mixed in with the gravy, or even peas.
