Luckily, fall staples like pumpkin butter are super easy to make at home! All you need is some simple ingredients and about 20 minutes for the best pumpkin butter you’ve ever had.
The Ingredients in the Pumpkin Butter
- Pumpkin Puree. To give the authentic pumpkin taste!
- Apple Cider. You can use apple juice instead.
- Maple Syrup and Coconut Sugar. These add the sweetness to the pumpkin butter.
- Vanilla Extract and Cinnamon.
- Pumpkin Pie Spice. You can use this recipe for AIP.

- Step 1. Combine all the ingredients in a pot set to low heat.
- Step 2. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer for 20-25 minutes..

- 1 13.5oz can pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup apple cider (sub apple juice)
- 1/2 cup coconut sugar
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Add the ingredients to a pot set to low heat and stir to combine.
- Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring often, until the pumpkin butter is thick and reduced.
- Serve over gluten-free toasts, with apples, etc!
