As someone who doesn’t really drink alcohol but loves a fun drink, mocktails are a must! Not only are they perfect if you don’t drink or are avoiding alcohol for health reasons, but kids can enjoy them too.

This vampire mocktail is super fun, and yummy, and is made without any added refined sugar. Perfect for a Halloween party, or a fun activity at home with kids.

The Ingredients

  • Pomegranate Juice.
  • Tart Cherry Juice.
  • Ginger Kombucha. I use the GTS brand of kombucha for this recipe, but if you make a homemade version, that should work as well!
  • Sparkling Water.

The Add In’s

  • Bat Shaped Ice. If you really want to be extra, use a bat silicone mold to make bat-shaped ice!
  • Toy fangs. Yes, they’re plastic, so not the highest quality thing, but they’re a great garnish for adults when you want to make it festive. Of course, please remove the fangs before you drink it. It’s just decoration. If you want to skip the plastic fangs, go for ice cube fangs instead!

How to make the Vampire Mocktail

  • Step One. Combine the pomegranate juice and cherry juice and shake to combine.
  • Step Two. Add the kombucha and sparkling water and stir to combine.
  • Step Three. Pour the drink over ice and top with optional garnish.

Can kids have kombucha?

Kombucha is generally considered safe for kids 4+ (source). Especially in this smaller, diluted amount, it’s something that I would feel comfortable serving. However, always do your own research and ask your own medical professionals! If you’re iffy about it, you can skip it altogether and just add more of the other juices.

What alcohol could you add if you wanted to make this a cocktail?

You can add a shot of vodka if it’s adults only that want a little something extra!

Can you make this drink ahead of time?

You can mix the juices ahead of time, but add the sparkling water to serve so if doesn’t go flat.
