Pizza rolls are the ultimate game-day food. I’m in love with the Stromboli recipe from Grazed and Enthused, and used it as inspiration for making an AIP pizza roll this year! The dough holds together perfectly, the filling is simple and flavorful, and it feels exactly like you’re eating a pizza roll. You’ll have trouble not eating the whole batch in one sitting 😉

Why you’ll love these Pizza Rolls

  • It’s the perfect game-day appetizer! These pizza rolls are so delicious and taste exactly like eating a pizza roll!
  • It fits any dietary needs. This recipe is gluten-free, grain-free, egg-free, dairy-free, and nut-free, and still tastes delicious!

The Ingredients for the Pizza Rolls

  • White Sweet Potato. Hannah, Jersey, or Japanese Sweet Potato should all work! To prep the sweet potato, I like to peel them, chop and boil them until they’re soft, and then I mash them.
  • Arrowroot Starch. You may be able to use tapioca starch, but I usually stick with arrowroot starch.
  • Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, and Salt.
  • Nutritional Yeast. This gives the cheesy flavor! But you can leave it out if you want.
  • Ground Beef. You could use ground turkey as well if you prefer.
  • Nightshade-Free Marinara Sauce. This sauce is so delicious and makes the perfect filling for these pizza rolls!
