This apple smoothie is a nutrient dense smoothie that tastes like fall! It’s dairy-free and is made with apple, dates, cinnamon, and healthy fats.

Two cups filled with apple smoothie.

There’s nothing like a fresh, crisp apple in the fall! We all love fall coffee drinks, but what about a smoothie? If you’re already worn out from pumpkin everything, try this apple smoothie instead!

Why you’ll love this apple smoothie…

  • It’s fiber-packed. This smoothie keeps the peel on the apple, and uses the whole apple for added fiber rather than using something like apple sauce.
  • It’s made with healthy fats. Like coconut yogurt and almond butter.
  • It tastes like fall! The cinnamon and apple really make this taste like a fall drink.

The Ingredients for the Apple Smoothie

  • Apple. I use Honeycrisp apples for this recipe.
  • Dates. If your dates are hard, soak them for a few minutes to soften.
  • Almond Butter and Almond Milk. If you want to make the smoothie nut-free, you could swap for coconut or tigernut butter and another dairy-free milk.
  • Coconut Yogurt. I love the brand Culina!
  • Cinnamon. The cinnamon pairs perfectly with the apple and I love to sprinkle on top of the smoothie when serving.
  • Crushed Ice.
  • Collagen or Protein Powder. Totally optional, but can be added if you want to increase protein!

Can you peel the apple?

You can definitely peel the apple if you prefer. I honestly don’t notice the apple peel much since it’s thoroughly blended.

Can you use other varieties of apples?

I find that the Honeycrisp is the perfect apple for this recipe, but you can also use a pink lady apple or gala apple. Red delicious may be a little too mild, and granny smith may be too tart, but you can easily adjust the recipe to your tastes.

Can you make this nut free?

Yes! Here’s how…

  • Swap the almond butter for coconut butter or tigernut butter
  • Swap the almond milk for another dairy-free milk

Can you add vegetables to this smoothie?

You can add spinach or kale to the smoothie, but keep in mind that it will turn the smoothie green.

How do you add protein to this smoothie?

You can add a protein powder of your choice, or collagen.
