These oven-baked pears are the perfect easy dessert! Serve them with some whipped cream or ice cream, and enjoy!

We all love pie and cookie season, but in reality, things get a little bit hectic during the winter holiday season! Whether you’re traveling or making every dish from scratch, sometimes you just want something simple. These oven-baked pears are the perfect simple, last-minute dessert that everyone will love. They require minimal ingredients and a simple process

Why You’ll Love these Oven-Baked Pears

  • They’re easy! No rolling out dough, no fancy processes, just a simple baked recipe.
  • They’re real food based. Fresh pears are the main ingredient and this recipe uses no refined sugar.

The Ingredients for Oven-Baked Pears

  • Pears. I use Bartlett pears.
  • Ghee or coconut oil. You can also use butter if tolerated.
  • Lemon juice. This adds a hint of acid and keeps the pears from over-browning.
  • Coconut sugar and honey. These are used to sweeten and caramelize the pears. You can easily swap the honey for maple syrup, and the coconut sugar for brown sugar.
  • Cinnamon and ginger. I love using ground ginger in sweet baked goods for a warming flavor!

How to make Oven Baked Pears

  • Slice the pears in half and use a spoon to scoop out the seeds.
  • Season and toss. Season and rotate the pears, flipping a few times to coat all sides of the pears with the toppings. Place the pears cut side down, and skin side up and transfer to the oven.

  • Bake until soft and serve!

What kind of pears should you use for oven-baked pears?

I like using Bartlett pears for baking. However, you can definitely also use other varieties, just be aware of the bake time as some may be more firm or soft.

What can you serve with oven-baked pears?

  • Whipped cream or coconut cream
  • Ice cream (I love cosmic bliss dairy-free ice cream)
  • Roasted nuts like almonds or pecans

Can you make oven-baked pears ahead of time? How do you reheat them?

These are best fresh, but you can make them ahead of time and reheat them in the oven for about 4-5 minutes.
