Starbucks Kiwi Refresher

Whether or not you’re a fan of Starbucks coffee, it’s pretty undeniable that they have some pretty tasty-sounding fruity drinks during the warmer months! The kiwi refresher is a recent addition, and it’s made with green tea, grape juice, and some other fruit juices, sugar, and freeze-dried kiwi.

This version is a fresher, and a refined sugar-free homemade version of the kiwi refresher that’s easy to make at home and perfect for a summer day!

The Ingredients Needed

  • Fresh kiwis. You’ll juice part of these and use the other part for a garnish.
  • White grape juice. You’ll want to look for an organic brand preferably without any added sugars!
  • Brewed green tea.
  • Lime juice.
  • Ice.

The Tools Needed

  • Lemon juicer or citrus reamer. A lemon juicer or a citrus reamer is for juicing the kiwi! I used a citrus reamer and found it to be really quick and easy since kiwis are so soft.
  • Nut milk bag or fine mesh strainer. The kiwi juice will have a lot of pulp, so you can use either a nut milk bag or a fine-mesh strainer to remove the pulp. Either will work just fine, and it depends on your strainer, but the nut milk bag will likely produce a smoother juice with less pulp.

How to Make the Copycat Starbucks Kiwi Refresher

  • Prepare the kiwi. Peel one kiwi, slicing half of it and dicing the other half to use as garnish.
  • Juice the kiwis. Juice the other two kiwis in a glass or bowl. Using a fine-mesh strainer or nut milk bag, strain the pulp out of the kiwi juice and transfer to another larger bowl.
  • Mix together with other ingredients. Using 3 oz of the kiwi juice, combined with the grape juice, green tea, and lime juice. Mix well, and then mix in the diced kiwi.
  • Pour over ice, garnish and serve.

Can you make this recipe ahead of time?

You can! Chill in the fridge and add the ice when you’re ready to serve.

Can you make this with regular grape juice?

You could technically use whatever juice you like here, but it will definitely alter the flavor of the drink!

Is there a way to make this caffeine-free?

The green tea is important for the flavor of this drink so I wouldn’t recommend subbing it, but you could always try a herbal tea instead if you’re really sensitive to caffeine.
