Healthy No-Bake Apple “Donuts”

I love a healthy snack that is also a breeze to make and endlessly customizable, which is what led me to create these no-bake apple “donuts”! Apples have always been a go-to health snack for my family and the classic apples and peanut butter is something I always loved. Since cutting out peanuts, I use other nut butters, such as almond or sunflower butter or even dairy-free yogurt and fresh fruit or chocolate as a topping!

My family loved this version of this classic snack when I made it and I knew it had to go up on the blog! These are perfect for a weeknight treat or after-school snack!

The Ingredients Needed for Healthy No-Bake Apple “Donuts”

  • Apples. Any variety here will work, but I personally love the Honeycrisps!
  • Nut or seed butter of your choice. I use almond butter, but you can use peanut butter, sunflower butter, or even tigernut butter to keep it AIP.
  • Yogurt. I loved using Culina blueberry yogurt for these to give more color and flavor, but you can use any yogurt of your choice!
  • Toppings of your choice. Dairy-free chocolate chips, fresh fruit, sprinkles, or coconut shreds all are great options!

How to Make Healthy No-Bake Apple “Donuts”

  • Thoroughly wash the apple and dry. Using an apple core, carefully remove the core from the apple. Carefully slice the apple into rings. They should resemble donuts!

  • Decorate the apples by spreading 1-2 tbsp of yogurt (or 1-2 tbsp of almond butter) onto each apple slice as a frosting!

  • Top each frosted apple with toppings of your choice like berries, shredded coconut, and more as desired! Serve fresh.

What are the best flavor combinations for these apples?

This is a personal opinion of course, but here are some great flavor combinations to try out on your apple donuts…

  • Almond butter and chocolate chips
  • Almond butter and banana slices
  • Almond butter and strawberry
  • Blueberry yogurt and fresh blueberries
  • Strawberry yogurt and fresh strawberries
  • Yogurt and sprinkles
  • etc!

Can you store these for later?

They’re best fresh, but they can be chilled for an hour or two if you wish to snack on them later!
