Instant Pot Apple Cider
This instant pot apple cider is the perfect fall drink! It’s simply made with real food ingredients in a short time.
What is Apple Cider?
There’s a lot of buzz about pumpkin spice this time of year, but apple cider is just as delicious! Apple cider is a hot beverage made from apples, citrus, and warming spices like cinnamon. Though some add alcohol, it is traditionally non-alcoholic.
Apple cider is so easy to make at home and seriously makes your house smell like a fall wonderland! Making it in the instant pot makes it easier than ever to have this hot beverage ready in your home in minimal time.
How to Make Apple Cider in the Instant Pot
- Add the sliced fruit, cinnamon sticks, cloves and maple syrup to the instant pot. Cover with water and mix.
- Place the lid on the instant pot, and set to manual, high pressure, and set the timer for 15 minutes. Allow the instant pot to come to pressure and cook. Once the timer is up, turn off the instant pot and allow the pressure to release naturally (this will take 15-20 minutes).
- After the pressure releases, remove the lid and allow to cool slightly before carefully using a potato masher to mash the apples and oranges well for 4-5 minutes. Set a fine-mesh strainer over a large bowl and strain the solid fruit pieces out of the cider.
- Serve the cider warm with extra cinnamon sticks for garnish if desired.

To make apple cider on the stovetop, you’ll simply bring it to a low simmer for about 90 minutes to 2 hours.
The Ingredients You’ll Need
Fresh apple
I like using a mix of different fresh apples like gala apples, Honeycrisp, and granny smith. This adds to the flavor depth!

You’ll need one orange to add a nice hint of citrus.
