Strawberry Mango Salsa

Strawberry Mango Salsa
Salsa is traditionally a dip that’s made with tomato, jalapeno, and other savory ingredients, but it doesn’t always have to be tomato-based! Salsa is one of those dishes that easy to get really creative with and play with different flavor profiles.
If you’re like me and don’t tolerate tomatoes but still love the fresh flavor of salsa, this strawberry mango salsa will be right up your alley! It’s the perfect combination of sweet and savory as it uses mango, strawberry, avocado, and lime for a fun balance of flavors.
The Ingredients for the Strawberry Mango Salsa
- Strawberries
- Mango
- Red onion
- Avocado
- Lime juice
- Cilantro
How to Make Strawberry Mango Salsa
- Using a medium bowl combine all of the ingredients (reserving the salt). Carefully stir to combine, being careful to not crush the avocado.
- Top with salt to taste and serve immediately, or store in an airtight container in the fridge.
What should you serve this salsa with?
This salsa tastes great with chips of your choice like siete brand chips or plantain chips!
It would also be fun to add to tacos like a simple chicken taco, or a fish taco using a white fish to add some fresh, spring flavors.
How do you store the salsa? Can you make it ahead of time?
I actually first made this salsa a couple of days ahead of a dinner party with friends several months ago and was surprised at how well it kept in the fridge! The citrus from the lime really helped keep the fruit and avocado from browning, and it tasted great a couple of days later.
The best way to store it is in glass in the fridge in a very airtight container. The less air, the less oxidation, and the longer it will keep!
Of course, recipes like this are still best fresh, so if you can eat it fresh that’s still the best way to go!
