Balsamic Ranch Chicken Thighs
These balsamic ranch chicken thighs are an easy and flavorful dish made with balsamic vinegar and ranch seasoning. It’s paleo, whole30, and AIP.
Balsamic Ranch Chicken Thighs
Balsamic and ranch seasoning are two amazing flavors on their own but usually aren’t paired. However, trust me… they taste amazing paired together! This recipe is actually an old family favorite that my mom created herself (posted with her permission of course) that I shared via my Instagram! It was such a hit in my own family and with so many of my readers over on IG that I decided to share it here as well!
These balsamic ranch chicken thighs are marinated and roasted chicken thighs with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and a homemade dried ranch seasoning.
The Ingredients in Balsamic Ranch Chicken Thighs
- Bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- Balsamic vinegar
- Olive oil
- DIY dried ranch powder. This is my own contribution to the recipe! Traditionally, my mom used a buttermilk ranch seasoning, but I added my own dried ranch mix to keep it paleo/whole30.
How to Make Balsamic Ranch Chicken Thighs
- Make the ranch powder.Â
- Marinate the chicken. Add the chicken thighs to a large bowl. Pour the olive oil and balsamic vinegar over the chicken and season with the ranch powder. Use tongs to turn the chicken to ensure they’re evenly seasoned. Cover the bowl and transfer to the fridge to marinate for at least 4 hours (preferably overnight).
- Bake in the oven. Once the chicken has marinated, preheat the oven to 375F and line a baking dish with parchment paper. Add the chicken to the baking dish along with the marinade. Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes.
Can you make these ahead of time? How do you store them?
Yes! They’re great for meal prep. I like to store them in glass Tupperware in the fridge.
What can you serve with these balsamic ranch chicken thighs?
- Sweet potato fries
- Bacon ranch potato salad
- Roasted veggies of your choice
- A side salad
Can you use other cuts of chicken?
You can for sure use this seasoning combination for other cuts of chicken like chicken breast, or maybe even chicken wings as long as you’d adjust the cook time!
Can you cook this in the instant pot or crockpot?
You likely can, it just won’t have the same texture, but the flavors would still be delicious!

This is a favorite in our home! I actually have the Narrow Way Farms whole cut up chicken marinating now. I am already counting down to dinner — SO delicious, comforting, and easy to make!
So glad you are loving it!!
Made this the other night for dinner and the family said to make this all the time. So I’m on here now printing out the recipe. Used a whole chicken broken down. Followed recipe exactly. So good! I was going to make Swedish meatballs for dinner the next night but everyone only wanted the leftovers of this meal. Say Whhaat? That’s a first! Thanks Michelle for another awesome creation!
If I wanted to make this with boneless chicken thighs, how would I adjust the cook time?
